Dragon Quest VIII Launch Trailer Released

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King officially releases for North America today for the Nintendo 3DS. This JRPG originally released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and came packaged with a demo of Final Fantasy XII. This Nintendo 3DS release comes with the inclusion of two new characters, Morrie and Red who were previously NPCs in the original version and for some other differences the music is no longer orchestrated going for a more Midi sound and Jessica has a different voice actress in this version. The alchemy pot in the original game took several upon several minutes to create items and in this version creations are made instantly. Square Enix dropped a new trailer today in celebration of the game’s launch and the trailer really tugs on nostalgia.
