Richard Morgan, the writer behind Crysis 2 and Syndicate has been involved with a dark fantasy game-book called A Land Fit For Heroes. It’s a mature-themed role-playing story game that tabletop fans might thoroughly enjoy.
Hungary-based indie outlet Liber Primus Games has been involved with designing the game-book after having worked on The Narborion Saga trilogy. This newest project centers around a central cast of scarred souls investigating missing kids, ancient evil and machine-demons “manipulating” mankind.
The game has inventory management, turn-based combat, multiplayer and easy to navigate chapters. According to author Richard Morgan, he states in the press release…
You can see what the game-book looks like in action with the trailer below.
The characters are all grizzly and flawed. The warrior Kirellin suffers from a death-wish after spending years in combat. Calnar is a young warrior facing violent rage from the childhood trauma of being repeatedly raped by his father. And Ilaria is a thief dealing with a lot of violence and anguish from her past.
The game-book can be experienced as a three-player adventure or it can be role-played alone. I imagine this is probably a good game to own for anyone who really enjoys the tabletop experience but no longer has the room or time to schedule traveling to a friend or family member’s house to play.
A Land Fit For Heroes is available right now for iOS and Android devices, and it will be coming soon to Steam on PC before the year is out in December. You can grab a digital copy from the Google Play Store, or the iTunes App Store or from the Kindle Store for around $1.
